Lisa McDermott, Vice President, has executive accountability for Cerner’s business units focused on innovative strategies to improve quality, lower cost and improve the health of populations. The business units include Cerner’s Population Health Advisory, Performance Improvement, Quality Reporting and Analytics Practices for the United States and Europe.
The population health advisory practice is responsible for working with organizations to transition new care and financial models. This includes services and technologies to support patient centered-medical home models, Accountability of Care models, bundled payments, Clinical Integration, patient engagement and other related strategies.
The Performance Improvement practices leverages data-driven performance improvement methods, coupled with leveraging technology, to drive sustainable improvements. The alignment with performance improvement, technology and analytics is essentially in creating systemic improvements. A part of the program and technology offerings lead by Lisa is the development and deployment of Cerner’s enterprise data warehouse and the quality reporting and submission programs to various agencies. (I.e. Meaningful Use, PQRS, CMS, Joint Commission and others.)
McDermott joined Cerner in 1993 and has lead several aspects within Cerner including business development of emerging practices, the creation of Cerner’s regulatory practice which successfully supported over 90 of Cerner’s clients to attest to Meaningful use and led a National program with Ascension Health to standardize the EMR rollout and adoption across the health system.
McDermott received a bachelor’s degree in computer information science from Northwest Missouri State University.
