Thomas Selva, MD, chief medical information officer for MU Health Care, has been recognized by Healthcare IT News as a leader in health care information technology. Selva is one of three national leaders selected by readers to receive the publication’s “Enhancing Patient Care Through IT” award. He was honored at the sixth annual H.I.T. Men and Women Awards reception during the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2015 conference April 13 in Chicago.

Xtract Kick-Off with ENT Allergy Clinic

This project is to implement Xtract Solutions’ Allergy Preparation system for the ENT Allergy Clinic.   This system will confirm the accuracy of the allergen mixing process using barcode verification and will track product lot numbers and patient vials.

Columbia Surgical Services transition to Cerner EMR and IDX kick-off

On January 1, Columbia Surgical Services (formerly Columbia Surgical Associates) became MUHC employees.  On April 13 we kicked off the project to transition CSS to our EMR, GE IDX, and network.  Go-live is scheduled for September 1, 2015.

Xltek Interface Go-Live

We added an orders interface to the existing Xltek system in our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at University Hospital so patient data automatically flows to the system when a test is ordered and the patient is checked in.
